What do you like the most about redstone?: The challenges in inventing something new and compacting it to the best of your ability.
What's a thing you have made which demonstrates redstone knowledge?: I have made many things in the past, some of which I have put on youtube, such as an expandable pulse-length decoder.
What does the thing do?: The pulse-length decoder does what its name implies, it decodes the pulse length that is given to it based on tick timings.

Although your Expandable pulse-length decoder looks very fancy, i don't think it will be good enough to get you through the trial. Did you make devices in the past that required binary knowledge / logic?
