On/Off Chat Filter??? POLL - Formal_Creeper - 04-24-2017

Do you think there should be an on/off chat filter for those who aren't allowed to see/hear, or prefer not to see/hear inappropriate language, that would only effect those with it enabled?

On the server, we just expect people to handle to a reasonable degree whatever is said in chat. If you really don't like the chat, you can install a client-side filter. A minute of researching brought this up: https://herocraftonline.com/main/threads/how-to-use-the-macromods-chat-filter.53862/
Might be outdated, in that case just spend a few more minutes, I'm sure you'll find something.

I am so confused with all the nos... It's not like it's going to make  a difference to the people who don't have it enabled, and it will make the server a better experience for those with it enabled. So what's up with all the nos??

I think people just want themselves heard and it would get annoying if everyone just filtered you.

Admins could use their time to do something better. And no one feels like catering to people who are unable to handle moderate profanity. It would just be another plugin that has to be kept updated and in check, that only 2 or 3 people might use. If you don't like swearing, I hear Stym's has a chat filter installed :3 after enough chat violations, you get banned or something. So go there for a plushy safe space.

So my reason for hating this idea is that if everyone could mute people then absolutely everyone would have me muted. I need to be able to swear at people. but no I'm totally fine with you installing a client side chat filter which would also give you more freedom when it comes to adding blacklisted words.

However this IS the internet and you choose where to go. Foul language is unavoidable without completely avoiding the internet.
