What do you like the most about redstone?:
What's a thing you have made which demonstrates redstone knowledge?: My elevator on my youtube channel, or my own one commands creations
What does it do?: The elevator has a compartment that goes up and down, the door open by them selves and u can call the elevator, i made it when i was 8 years old :). For the one commands (i don't know if command block are included in your redstone concept, but for me, they are so i put them here) There are elementals sheeps, Bcomming energy

What do you plan on making for your build trial?: A "teleporter" made of redstone only

We mainly focus on computational redstone.
Instead, I'd recommend applying for our school server here.
