It's a client-server-based system: The client types a message (here 50 characters) first, and request video playback (4 px tall * unlimited px wide, 2.5 fps, received as a 10 hz continuous bitstreaming over one wire) of the message on a scrolling repeater display. The server decodes the keyboard, stores the message and will stream video playback upon request from the client. I've been too lazy as of yet to fill the ROM containing the text font that will be displayed (http://imgur.com/Ib0mjtZ). The system has got all necessary control/start/stop circuits in place tho, as well as an experimental circuit promising variable on-screen character width. 2 years in development. On the image above, it isn't trying to show readable characters. The lit pixels provide a representation of transmitted binary data from the keyboard, data which must be decoded at the server. Then, what's the deal 'bout the misc blocks in the QWERTY-keyboard? Diamond block = "d", block of gold = "g"... and symbols [, . ? '] are also present.
