Application for FrankTC, Already Experienced - OreDerp - 12-28-2016

Minecraft name:

FrankTC

What do you like the most about redstone?:

I enjoy spending days making large redstone contraptions which have no practical application for survival Minecraft.

I also have a small YouTube channel where I post a lot of Redstone tutorials. (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbDu8QqgTkyprRBIxBFiznw)

What's a thing you have made which demonstrates redstone knowledge?:

Yesterday, I experimented in making the addition part of a redstone calculator using piston feed tapes and 7-segment displays.

What does the thing do?:

This device performs addition operations using piston feed tapes, creating a counting system.

Image/s and/or video/s of the device, from imgur.com or youtube.com:

What do you plan on making for your build trial?:

Simple, long distance telegraph!

Do you agree with the rules?:

Yes!

Would you be able to go more in depth about this build?

I recently changed my Minecraft account username to 'OreDerp'.

The computer, or the telegraph system?

I will give you both, just for more information.

The computer is an addition computer that runs by having repeaters fire a redstone signal a certain amount of times (according to the number entered.) It will then run over to a piston feed tape, with normal blocks all around it, except for the redstone block which represents the number. The value of that number is then sent to a 7-segment display, which will process that number. If the numerical value of the first number exceeds 9, it will go to the second piston feed tape, leading into the second 7-segment display, which will compute that signal and display a number in the 10's value.

The telegraph system is a way that you can send Morse code through a wire. Instead of redstone, the device will use tripwires, which will look more like a telephone wire, just for extra frills. It will then output the morse code to the person at the end of the line. This is a relatively simple device, but it still works great!
