Application to graduate from School to Build - Wibwobtimwim - 12-21-2016

Minecraft name: Wibwobtimwim

What do you like the most about redstone?: The ability to extrapolate digital circuits into a 3D environment, allowing me to visually see how things react with each other

What's a thing you have made which demonstrates redstone knowledge?: My sample is a 16x16 pixel animation screen.

What does the thing do?: It draws pictures on the screen. Animations, specifically. It contains a shift register to power an external encoder which renders basic animations on to the screen one frame at a time.

Image/s and/or video/s of the device, from imgur.com or youtube.com: Imgur album: http://imgur.com/a/7liea  Very crappy quality flyover Youtube: https://youtu.be/TyUCVCsqFJ0

What do you plan on making for your build trial?: If I'm given assistance with stacking, a sample of the screen and how to control it manually

Do you agree with the rules?: Yes

Thanks for taking the time to consider my application.

I would like to see more logic involved in your build. This seems to be a screen with a lookup table, which does not show much knowledge of gates. I would accept this if this involved some sort of writeable RAM or some gate calculations.

Alright, no sweat, I built this tonight (with stacking help from dwee525):
Minecraft name: Wibwobtimwim

What do you like the most about redstone?: The ability to extrapolate digital circuits into a 3D environment, allowing me to visually see how things react with each other

What's a thing you have made which demonstrates redstone knowledge?: My new sample is a BCD encoder

What does the thing do?: It does BCD Add3 in a 4-bit RCA. When stacked, the module links to copies of itself to implement double dabble. The overall design isn't mine (using a 4-bit wiki adder with a modification that come from a Youtube video I saw - I think it was Bennyscube's design, but don't quote me on that, I'm not 100% sure of the author), but I did the gating to determine when to add 3 to the circuit myself, as well as the shifting.

Image/s and/or video/s of the device, from imgur.com or youtube.com: Imgur album: http://imgur.com/a/TdF6r

What do you plan on making for your build trial?: I can make a sample of this BCD encoder. By trial time I may have figured out how to compact it some more too.

Do you agree with the rules?: Yes
