Build Server application - wyldstallyns - wyldstallyns - 10-15-2016

Minecraft name: wyldstallyns

What do you like the most about redstone?: A redstone CPU is what got me interested in the game. The creative thinking required to exploit redstone behavior and other game dynamics is the same sort needed for nano-computing.

What's a thing you have made which demonstrates redstone knowledge?:

Here's an old ALU build from sand, signs and torches.

What does the thing do?:

4 bit logic ALU that, when a single sign is broken, becomes this:

... so the enemy can't like, compute, when your base is overrun. Because that's why they attack. They want your dozens of precious CPU cycles per minute. For their moon shot calculations. Or bingo picker, I can't remember which.

Here's a drop tower:

... which damages minecart-riding villagers to a certain health level, to be routed to their correct spot in this parking garage:

... till the fateful tick we need their value. One block on the left is red for a reason. Shudder.

We held the record for maximum RAM for a while. I think this was a 2 kilobyte build.

What do you plan on making for your build trial?:

I think the institute might frown on my fledgling wolf-powered SheePU logic gates or my wheat-powered Cowputer as being "not redstony enough," so what about... a stackable scrolling display whose input is a minecart chest containing specific stacks of blocks. (I guess I'm still stuck on high density storage.)

Do you agree with the rules?: Yes

Accepted for trial! Hop on the server at mc.openredstone.org and ask a staff member for assistance.

But we are fine with a 4-bit ALU for the trial, well-explained Smile You can build those inspirational sheep and cow stuff when you are builder Smile
